All Crooked Lake Residents are welcome to join in on the second annual DCLA Winter Social! Summer isn’t the only time to get together and get to know other lake residents. This is a family friendly event with food, drinks, fun & games for everyone! Prizes will be awarded to game winners!

DCLA hosts 4 membership meetings each summer from May to August and encourages all members to attend! These are informal meetings with appetizers for everyone to meet together, get to know others in the Crooked Lake Community, and also hear updates from the board. Get to know others on the lake! Bring yourself, your family/ friends and an appetizer to share. Look for the DCLA banner and growing group of boats at the north end of the island. Not much time to spare, just float by and wave hi!

2nd annual evening at the movies, by boat! This year DCLA hopes to have free popcorn for participating boaters. Rain date is Saturday, June 21st. Watch for details here or on the Crooked Lake Facebook page.

Join others in the annual DCLA 4th of July Boat parade; always on the 4th of July! Decorate your boat with as much or as little as you’d like. Have a theme, join with neighbors or friends. The idea is to have fun and celebrate! Prizes awarded to winners and a traveling trophy is given to first place.

Here are a few things to remember when participating in the boat parade:

• Please be mindful of the lakes habitat, try to pick up debris that’s fallen off another’s boat and do not throw any items toward spectators onshore.

• A contact phone number including area code (legible from the shore) must be displayed on the starboard (shore) side of our boat. DCLA uses this to contact winners. If there is no phone number, the boaters will not be eligible for prizes

• Line up begins on the northside of the lake near Stoney Point at 12:45 pm for a 1:00 pm start. A DCLA board member will be the lead boat for all to follow.

• Stay in line and do your best to keep up with other boat in order to keep the parade going. Do not stop unless you absolutely have to.

• Be safe and keep a safe distance from the other boats and observe all standard boating rules. 

• Please follow the route entirely for everyone to see. DCLA has judges all around the lake, and you never know which house is judging!

Neither DCLA or Crooked Lake has an organized fireworks display. Instead, celebrations occur all around the lake before, during and after the 4th of July! Stoney Point along with private residents put on displays like no other! Watch from shore or out in the water. Crooked Lake 4th of July Fireworks never disappoint!

Boat over and pick up your Scavenger Hunt Clue Sheet(s) at the boat anchored at North end of the Island between 1 - 3 pm. This is a fun family and friends event.  Participants will need to download the Actionbound app in order to play. 

Find, solve and complete as many clues as you can. Clue sheets must be returned to the same anchored boat by 3 pm to be eligible for prizes.  There is no fee to play, but there are prizes to be won! 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes will be awarded for the most complete and accurate sheets.  Members receive higher prize amounts.  All clues are designed to be solved or completed by boating around the lake.

The August meeting includes dinner and is a fun time of social camaraderie. Lake updates as well as new board member nominations are held during a brief after dinner business meeting.

Join the fun of boating around the lake and drawing cards at the docks of other lake residents! Meet at the north end of the Island beginning at 1 pm. Participants pay $5 / per tally sheet and receive a map of poker stations around the lake. One card per participant tally sheet is drawn at each station to complete a 5 card poker hand. Return your completed poker sheet to the DCLA Boat Captain by 3 pm to qualify for winnings!
